Compass Plant

Picture
Compass Plant is one of the tallest plants of the prairie. The flowering stem grows high above the basal leaves and blooms with one or several yellow composite sunflower-like flowers. The leaves have deep laceration. The basal leaves often align in the same north-south direction, giving the plant its common name.
